Week 12 - Monday-Sunday Mon 12th September – Sun 18th September 2005 Well I am back from France with more freckles than I had when I went. The last few days of Week 11 were spent travelling to Luton by train, to Nimes by plane and to Uzès by car, then generally relaxing around eating croissants and swimming and reading in the sunshine. The Week 11 picture was taken standing by the pool! Week 12 passed quickly and hubby and I had a lovely time on holiday with my Dad. It was a chance to spend some time with my Dad and for him to be involved in the daily discussions and excitement – I think it made it all more real for him seeing his daughter feeling so nauseas and only eating Madeleines, crisps and melon! He even started talking about buying toys and prams etc. Before I think he was a bit afraid, but as we neared the 12 week mark I think he, like the rest of us, started to dare to feel a little more confident. I’ve included a few piccies from the holiday onto the Bumpwatch (link to left) album. I discovered Maeve Binchy whilst on holiday and I read Echoes and started Light a Penny Candle. I absolutely loved her writing, I was so absorbed into the story and I love it when a writer can do that – just pull you into another world. It was Friday before we knew it and we were sad to have to leave and fly home, but it was so good to get home to our cosy little flat, even the familiar sound of feet stomping around above us felt homely! We had the BEST weekend that we’ve had in a long time. As soon as we got home early on Friday evening we pulled our mattress, duvet and loads of pillows into the living room, in front of the big and decent telly, and made ourselves a nest. Then we ordered pizza and just slobbed, watched TV, chatted, read, ate and watched films. Apart from a brief trip to Tesco on Saturday morning we more or less stayed there until 9am on Sunday morning, we ordered curry on Saturday night to prevent us from ruining our slobbing time with cooking! It was so relaxing it was untrue. So Week 12 came to an end and we went to bed on the Sunday night knowing that the following morning we would see our baby for the very first time…
