Week 37-Saturday and Sunday Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th March 2006 The weekend was good. Hubby and I went on an impromptu drive to Bluewater on Saturday morning to spend the John Lewis vouchers I got as part of my leaving gift at work. We bought a travel changing mat and a gro-bag – and we still have £20 worth left. Think we might get a second gro-bag. Hubby said I should spend it on something for myself but I find it really hard to do that right now, there are so many things we need for the bay etc that it’s hard to buy luxuries! Besides, it’s my birthday in April so I will get plenty of me-stuff then. After shopping we dropped in on our friends Bee and Ian and had some biccies and a cup of tea, which was lovely, especially as we didn’t have to rush anywhere. We played with their cat and talked about the possibility of a camping weekend in the summer (with or without the baby – undecided!) We popped to Ikea and Hubby amused himself in the kitchen section whilst I sneakily bought a large frame. I have had a photograph that he took in New York blown up to put in it, it’s such a good photo looking out across the lake in Central Park and I know he’s proud of it and it will look so excellent in a frame. It’s just one of about twenty presents I have got him for his thirtieth birthday on 25th March. My aim is to have thirty presents for him – with one being the chocolate cake I’m making and one being the baby! On Sunday I chilled out in the morning whilst Hubby played footy. Then Hubby’s mum and step-dad came down for the afternoon with their dog Jack. We walked in the forest and park behind our flat and stopped at the tea-hut for tea and cake (dog biscuits for Jack!) I was knackered by the time we got back – my bump as really dropped and moving around is a real effort (not to mention a strain on my bladder!) We had a lovely spag-bol and then they headed home. Hubby and I just chilled out for the rest of the evening and had an early night. A lovely relaxing weekend all in all, with no disturbance from the evil neighbours upstairs, bliss. Despite it though I was still feeling irritable and tearful and still quite affected by the treatment I had received from my horrid community midwives on Friday. I feel very pre-menstrual at the moment, only more so, it’s so strange. I know it’s just hormones and the strain of pregnancy etc but I really hate feeling so low.
