Week 38 - Wednesday-Sunday

Wednesday 15th March-Sunday 19th March 2006

On Wednesday I lounged, cleaned up, watched Sex and the City (up to Series 5!) and generally did very little. On Thursday my best friend Bee came round for lunch – we had risotto, ate too many biscuits and watched bad daytime television – I even watched my first episode of Neighbours since my school days – and there’s all the same characters! Harold, Paul Robinson, Joe Mangal…! Weird.

On Friday I packed and sorted stuff out and then Hubby had the afternoon off and was home by just gone midday. We packed up the car with the last of our stuff to go into storage in my mum’s loft and drove down to Kent. We got a Chinese takeaway on Friday night with my mum and chatted and watched telly, I even had a glass of wine. Lovely.

On Saturday Hubby and I cleared some of my old junk out of the garage – there were spiders everywhere but Hubby doesn’t mind them thank goodness. So while I hopped and skipped about the garage shaking my hands about and going “ew ew ew..!” Hubby just calmly removed eight-legged monsters into places out of my eye-line. We spent the afternoon collecting bits from various places in Kent. We drove out to my mum’s friend’s place near to Meopham, where we would quite like to buy a place, and had a cuppa and some biccies and picked up a steam cleaner so we can clean the inherited moses basket and our one white rug (now slightly stained and off-white.) Then we drove back nearer to home and picked up the newly upholstered moses basket from my mum’s other friend. It is absolutely gorgeous, I’ll take a picture and post it, it’s just lovely.

On Sunday we ran all the junk we had removed from the garage to the dump and then Hubby went to footy whilst my mum and I went shopping. I tried to find a good 30th birthday card for Hubby but there was nothing decent anywhere, it’s like card manufacturers got to 30 and ran out of imagination. So I will make him one instead I think, though goodness knows what it’ll turn out like.

I cleared out loads of stuff from my old room on Sunday afternoon and we were knackered by 4pm so we decided to stay another night in Kent and enjoy another home-cooked meal. Hubby is on annual leave all week so we can do things in our own time, no rushing about. We chilled out, though I was agitated, I am getting gripey and uncomfortable in the evenings, I lounge about feeling fidgety and on edge and ENORMOUS. I am most definitely ready for this whole pregnancy to be over – as soon as we get my bikini wax on Thursday and Hubby’s birthday on Saturday out of the way! Then Baby D can make her appearance, everything is ready.
