Week 39-Monday-Wednesday Monday 20th March-Wednesday 22nd March 2006 It was lovely to wake up on Monday morning knowing than Hubby and I had the whole day and the whole week ahead of us to do what we wanted. We had a leisurely brekkie and headed off home to East London, where we chilled out fro most of the rest of the day. On Tuesday we drove to Ilford just to go to Woolworth’s to get Pick’n’Mix. Then we drove back and watched DVDs and ate it and made ourselves feel sick. It’s been so nice just chilling out and spending time together, especially seeing as our lives are about to change so drastically very very very soon. It’s lovely just to enjoy our final week or so of it being just the two of us. We sorted a few bits out around the flat and made it clean and tidy and ready for any new arrivals, I like to have everything just-so at the moment so that I feel the nest is ready. On Wednesday we dove out to Cambridgeshire to visit Hubby’s bro’s wife and her little girl, Mia. We had fun plating with jigsaw puzzles and trying to teach her to ride her new bike that she got for her birthday before heading home and watching three episodes of Sex and the City back to back. Hubby is really into it, I think he fancies Charlotte! We also made some yummy cookies, but I mistimed the second batch and turned them to charcoal – there was smoke everywhere and we had to open all the windows in the flat. It was very funny though and we’ve save the burnt ones for my step-mum who’s one of these weird people that likes burnt things. I continue to feel hideously uncomfortable. I get bigger every day, my stomach can not be seen for stretch marks and (turn away if you don’t want too much information) I have a blocked milk duct in my left nipple. Yup, I haven’t even started breastfeeding yet and already I have nipple issues. I went to my GP and she said to try squeezing it (like a zit) in the shower or try a breast pump. So I tried my breast pump – WEIRD EXPERIENCE. Milk actually came out…I know that shouldn’t seems weird, but believe me it is. And it didn’t work. Neither did squeezing it in the shower. Ah well. The GP reckons the surge of hormones when the baby arrives will sort it all out anyway. My attention span for things is about three minutes at the moment, so I can only worry about something for a very limited amount of time. Right – time for more lounging about on the sofa with the spare duvet, Hubby and some slightly overdone cookies. Bliss.
